Simtel appoints three executives in key roles to consolidate the group’s leading position in renewable energy in Romania

Bucharest, 18 January 2024 – Simtel Team (BVB: SMTL), a Romanian engineering and technology company listed on the AeRO market of the Bucharest Stock Exchange and a national leader in renewable energy, announces the consolidation of its operational, sales, and marketing departments by appointing three executives with extensive experience in the respective fields. Thus, Robert Lucian Dragotoiu was appointed Director of Engi-neering and Implementation Operations, Florin Alpopi was appointed Sales Director, and Ana Maria Mihailescu was appointed Marketing Director.

In addition, the group promoted Ana Nedea to Strategy and Business Development Director and PMO, while Alina Vilau took over the Innovation and Digitalization Director position.

Robert Lucian Dragotoiu is an executive with over 20 years of experience implementing and coordinat-ing various projects in national and international companies in the energy, oil and gas, utilities, and pharmaceutical industries. Before joining Simtel, Robert Lucian Dragotoiu held various management roles in companies such as Intec Energy Solutions, AECOM Romania, Honeywell, OMV Petrom, and Rompetrol. Within Simtel, Robert Lucian Dragotoiu will coordinate all operations related to implementa-tion and engineering projects.

Florin Alpopi, the new Sales Director, has over 20 years of experience in business management, strate-gies, business development, and portfolio management. Florin Alpopi worked for 18 years in Canada, developing companies’ businesses in various fields, such as construction, energy, and aviation. These include Lafarge, TransAlta, North American Construction Group, Shell, and Westjet. Before Simtel, Florin Alpopi was Sales and Marketing Director of Altur SA. At Simtel, he will coordinate the commer-cial activity at the group level.

Ana Maria Mihailescu is an executive with over 20 years of experience coordinating marketing and communication activities in multinational companies in the financial-banking sector and technology start-ups. Throughout her professional career, Ana-Maria Mihailescu coordinated the marketing and communication activity in companies such as BRD Groupe Societe Generale, Raiffeisen Bank, and Up Romania. Before joining Simtel, Ana Maria Mihailescu led the Marketing and Communication department of the medical technology start-up Beesers.

Regarding promotions, the new Director of Strategy and Development, Ana Nedea, has been with Simtel for over 11 years. During this period, she built the company’s energy department and trans-formed Simtel into the number one choice for green energy investors in Romania. In her new role, Ana Nedea will be responsible for expanding and consolidating existing partnerships, attracting new clients to the company’s portfolio, and launching new business lines that will complement Simtel’s ecosystem.

Alina Vilau, who takes over the role of Innovation and Digitalization Director, has been with Simtel for over 15 years. During this period, she managed and ensured the successful implementation of the com-pany’s telecommunications projects in all stages related to their development. In her new role, Alina Vilau will be responsible for analyzing the current technologies and trends in the profile market to pro-pose innovative solutions that will automate and digitalize the activity at the group level to streamline operations and increase the performance and quality of the services provided by Simtel.

At the same time, Bogdan Lebu was appointed Marketing Director at the technology companies in the Simtel portfolio – ANT Energy, Custom Soft Solutions (CSS), and Agora Robotics. Bogdan Lebu will develop and implement marketing strategies for the three companies. Bogdan Lebu has over 20 years of experience in marketing, business development, strategy, customer operations, and CX management acquired in companies from various sectors, such as Orange, Baxi, ID Sarrieri, Fortuna, and Creatopy.

Simtel is listed on the AeRO market of the Bucharest Stock Exchange as of July 2021 and currently has a market capitalization of approximately 450 million lei. The company provides operation and maintenance services for photovoltaic parks totaling more than 275 MWp installed and producing 352,000 MWh annually, corresponding to the consumption of 106,000 homes in a year, reducing by 217,000 tons per year gas emissions with the effect greenhouse, thus helping to protect the environ-ment and having a positive impact on the health and quality of life of communities, especially in densely populated urban areas.
